We help take your project step-by-step from initial design all the way through to completion, including assistance with permits. Our staff are experts in new decks, deck refurbishments, extensions and upgrades, as well as landscaping and outdoor accessories.
If you are a homeowner, DIYer, handyman or even a general contractor, The Deck Store can assist you with your outdoor living space needs. Whether you have grand designs in mind for a new deck, plan to refurbish an existing deck or simply looking to add depth to your outdoor living space, our team will provide you with sound, expert advice and innovative design ideas.
We offer both traditional and 3D designs for our projects, and employ the services of a structural designer (BCIN) for any needed permit acquisitions. It all starts with an in-person appointment to take space measurements, offer design advice and get a general feel for your project vision.
From there, our team of designers use state-of-the-art 3D technology to create your professionally designed space that maximizes usability. Outdoor living features such as decks, patios, pergolas, privacy screens and other accents are added to the design to bring your one-of-a-kind vision to life.
Once you’ve received your personalized design it’s time to pick out the ideal materials. At The Deck Store, we recognize that superior products deliver superior projects. That’s why we go through an extensive process to ensure all the materials we carry meet the highest quality standards, while simultaneously providing an esthetically pleasing, eco-friendly alternative to traditional products.
We frame our decks in either metal and traditional pressure treated lumber. Why use metal framing, you ask? There are a number of logical reasons, but ultimately it comes down to four main features: they are stronger, straighter, safer and smarter than their wooden counterparts. When it comes to your decking surface of choice, it can take on many forms — from traditional pressure treated to synthetic materials (composite/PVC).
Having a new deck is great, but what really turns you backyard space from renovation to staycation are the character pieces and accents that you choose. Things such as custom pergolas, privacy screens, shading options and custom metal artwork can go a long way in turning your outdoor space into a retreat; and we all want the kind of yard that will leave our neighbors and friends jealous and talking. Even something as simple as landscape or deck lighting can bring that little touch of tranquility and ambiance home, especially when enjoying it from the comfort of your new, high-quality patio furniture.
Once you’ve received your personalized design and picked out the ideal materials, now it’s time to get to work on the installation. However, transforming your backyard from mundane to marvelous doesn’t happen overnight.
Everything begins with a good foundation, and your deck is no different. Strength and stability are important things to build upon, and that’s why we like to build our decks upon Helical Piles (aka Screw Piles), which are essentially a giant metal screws. Once you have your post properly anchored and standing strong, it’s time for phase two: framing. This skeleton will support your decking for the duration of its life. After your foundation is set and your framing secure, it’s time for the main event of the building process: your decking of choice and any accents or details you’ve chosen to add.
But perhaps the most important aspect of any backyard renovation is not what work is being done, but who is actually doing it. We select only the best deck-building craftsmen to join our team. They are experienced professionals, skilled in a variety of build techniques and know-how. Every stage of the building process is treated with the utmost care and attention to detail, resulting in stunning projects that are constructed well above Ontario building code standards.
